Little Late, But Still On Track

Starting Weight: 194lbs. Weight Lost: 4.2lbs. Status: Great!

So I haven't been keeping up with this blog as much as I said I would. So I have decided I'm just gonna blog when ever I get the chance.
As you can imagine having to help my wife take care of our daughter, working, trying to keep the house clean, and doing my workout, I'm a little busy lol.
Anyways I'll fill you on things that went on since my last post.
My vacation ended, and I went back to work, and sadly I kinda got off track. I didn't do my work out as often as I was, and wasn't really watching what I was eating, or my portion size. I gained the 3lbs back that I had lost as well.
But slowly I got back into the habit of doing my workout, and as of today, I am out of the 190lbs range. I know weigh 189.8lbs.
I started doing my workout again, and now I'm more determined than I was.
I'm still trying to stay away from processed foods, which means most of the food I prepare at work is out of the question.
My workouts are a little more intense now. I'm jogging more than anything.
I haven't been able to jog outside, so I have been doing the free run for 20 minutes on the Wii Fit each night, then 10 Minuits of free step to settle down.
last night I ran 2 and a half miles according to the Wii Fit. I feel great, My endurance is getting better, I don't get short of breath as bad either.
Last Sunday, my wife and I went for a walk..... A four mile walk, all over the town of Black Mountain. It was actually warm enough to do so.

Mid-Week Check In

Starting Weight: 194lbs. Total Weight lost: 2.9lbs. Status: Pretty good

So its my second mid-week check in, and I have to tell you, things are going pretty good. I feel real good and I have almost hit my weight loss goal.
My goal deadline will be this Sunday, and I believe I will shatter my goal. I'm still doing my workouts around 5 or 6 in the evening, and I am beginning to make my workouts a little bit more intense. I'm now burning around 200 calories each workout.
I can't wait till it gets warm enough outside to walk. Don't get me wrong I love the Wii Fit, but I really wanna get out of the house, and get some fresh air.
Tomorrow is the last day of my vacation, and I hope that once I start back to work, I can still keep up with my routine.
I have to get up at 4:30 in the morning. so by the time I get home I'm usually pretty tired. Lets just hope I can keep it up.

First Week Down

Starting Weight: 194lbs. Total Weight Lost: 2.4lbs. Status: Ok.

So I made it past my first week, and I think I have done a pretty good job so far with keeping up with what I eat, and making sure I work out at least thirty minutes a day.
My wife has been watching out for me and helping me make sure I don't over eat like I have been, and keeping me in line.
I'm proud of her also cause ever since she had Elah almost three weeks ago she has lost over 20 pounds off of her pre-pregnancy weight.
I feel pretty good so far, definitely a lot better than I did a week ago. I'm just tired cause Elah kept us up most of the night last night.
I have done pretty good with not drinking much soda this week, all but 1 Coke at the beginning of the week and 2 Mtn. Dews on Thursday, so I'm making progress.
My diet now consist of fresh, home cooked meals. And I'm trying not to eat a whole lot of processed food.
In the mornings I normally eat scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and toast, or some of this oatmeal my wife buys that isn't the instant crap.
It keeps me pretty full during the morning till around 12 or 1.  I try to eat at least some fruit or nuts for a snack to hold off those cravings , and that seems to help alot.
It feels really good knowing I am committed to doing this, and that it is actually working. If I keep this up, by next Sunday I should have lost over what I wanted to loose.
When I started, I said I wanted to lose at least 3 pounds every two weeks and its going really well.
I also downloaded this app. for my droid called "My Fitness Pal". Its awesome.
When you first start it you log in all your info. Height, Weight, Age, Etc. and it calculates how many calories you should be taking in each day. Then whenever you eat, you just log in the food you ate, and it subtracts it from your total calories. Normally I try to keep it about 100 to 200 calories below, so that I lose some weight.
So far this journey is going really good. I just hope I keep getting results.

Mid-Week Check In

Starting Weight: 194lbs. Total weight lost: 1.1lbs. Status: So-so

So every Wednesday I have decided to do a mid-week check in. So far according to the Wii Fit, I have lost 1.1lbs. Its a start, and I'm going slow with it so I'm doing it healthily instead of starving myself, and working out constantly.
I'm trying to watch what I eat, but working as a cook doesn't exactly help. I don't snack a whole lot and when I do, I'm trying to do it healthy by snacking on fruit, or almonds.
The two MAJOR issues I have is over eating, and sodas.
I tend to over eat A LOT, mainly when we go out to eat, cause the way I see it, I paid the money for it and I want to eat my moneys worth. When we eat at home I still over eat a little bit, but not as much.
I am also a major "Coke" Addict. I love to drink Coca Cola, and I know that I get a whole lot of my unwanted calories that way.
While I'm at work, I've started trying to eat a good size breakfast so that I feel full longer during the day, and it seems to help out a lot. Ive also changed things up a bit so that I am moving more while I work.
This is my fourth day doing the Wii Fit plus workout, and so far it seems to be going pretty well.
I'm a bit sore because I haven't done it in a while but its not to bad. Every evening around five, or six I do a thirty minute workout. I normally burn 140 to 160 calories each night. Its not much but its a start.
I feel somewhat better, but its still not a huge improvement.

The Start Of My Journey

Starting Weight: 194lbs. Total Weight Lost: 0lbs. Status: Feel like dirt.......

So after about a week and a half of eating basically junk food.(with the exception of a few home cooked meals by our friends) because Elah was born, and its been so busy lately we haven't felt like cooking. I am starting to feel like CRAP!!
Besides, I have been thinking alot about my health ever since my baby girl was born. I wanna be there for her for a long time, and I have a feeling that if I keep doing what I'm doing now, that time will be alot shorter than I want.
My goal through this journey is to atleast shed a few pounds, yes I know some of you who know me is saying,"Your already skinny." And yes I am, but I am getting alittle flabby lol. I don't want to go overboard with it. I just want to loose a few.
I'm also wanting to try to eat alot healthier to. McDonald's and Wendy's just isn't cutting it.
Like I said earlier, I feel like crap. I don't sleep good at night, I get short of breath too easily, and just plain feel bad.
As of now really the only thing I have to exercise with is the Wii Fit Plus. Its to cold to go outside and I am not gonna pay to go to the gym.
I hope to atleast lose 3 pounds in two weeks. Every Sunday I'll record my progress on here. If you are reading this blog, and have any good recipes, or any tips please let me know!
